Highlights from February 18th's Board meeting. -- Feb 20, 2006
Hello, folks! Rob Landley and I, your esteemed co-founders, have
been talking at the Board meetings about having a blog on the website
where we'll post things from PenguiCon news to vaguely con-related
ramblings. General consensus of the folks present seemed to be,
"could be fun, and if it is boring, well, no one's forcing people to
click through."
So, highlights from last night's Board meeting. We met at the Espresso Royale in Brighton. (They make really fine mint hot chocolate, by the way.) There as a great deal of discussion of advertising and other methods of getting the word out further about PCon. We then segued into a discussion of possible guests of honor for 5.0, and several people were tasked to which of them might be available.
Additionally, the possibility of getting 20 liters of liquid nitrogen for the making of weird ice creams was discussed, and likely will be happening. The possibility of setting up an electrolyzer to make equal quantities of balloons filled with pure oxygen, and balloons filled with pure oxygen, almost certainly will *not* be happening, much to Rob's disappointment. I personally suspect that the hotel would frown on even a minuature recreation of the Hindenberg. (:
Speaking of which, go book your hotel rooms, people. There *will* be interesting things going on until 2 a.m.. And you're not going to want to drive home that late. (:
